    Save Native Plants at Volunteer Invasive Plant Removal Projects

    Want to help restore native plant and wildlife habitat? Help with habitat restoration by removing invasive non-native plants. Most organizations provide tools and gloves.

    North Coast Redwoods District, California State Parks- 9am to 12pm 2nd Saturday of the month in Humboldt County; 1st and 3rd Sunday in Del Norte County joint with the Tolowa Dunes Stewards, 1st Sunday from 10am-2pm and 3rd Sunday 12pm-4pm; plus additional dates.     Humboldt Trails Council Volunteer Work Days

    The Volunteer Trail Stewards (VTS) provide “eyes and ears” presence on designated trails, report observations and trail maintenance issues, perform basic litter collection and participate in maintenance work days.     Arcata Community Forest Trails – Volunteer work days are the 4th Saturday of every month, except December.  Meeting locations TBA.  Contact Rees at 

    Chah GAH Cho Trail – The McKinleyville Land Trust, in partnership with VTS, would like to resume volunteer days soon. Contact the McKinleyville Land Trust at 

    Eureka Waterfront Trail North (Tydd St. to Adorni Center) – Volunteer work days are the 3rd Saturday of every month, 9am to 11am. Meet at the foot of X street in front of the Blue Ox Mill.  Contact Dennis at  or Pam at 

    Eureka Wharf Trail (‘C’ St to Del Norte St) – Volunteer work days are the 1st Sunday of every month, 9am – 11am. Meet at the Wharfinger Building parking lot.  There are also additional volunteer work opportunities.  Contact Gail at  

    Freshwater Farms Reserve Nature Trail (5851 Myrtle Ave, Freshwater, just south of the barn) – The Northcoast Regional Land Trust, in partnership with VTS, holds periodic volunteer days.  Contact Karlee at 

    Hammond Trail (Arcata Bottoms to Clam Beach, McKinleyville) – Volunteer work days are the 1st Saturday of every month (except January), 9am-11am. Meeting locations TBA.  Contact Stacy at 

    Hikshari’ Trail (Eureka’s Truesdale St. to Elk River Park & Ride) – Volunteer work days are the 2nd Saturday of every month, 9am-11am.  Contact Mark at 

    Mad River Bluffs – The McKinleyville Land Trust, in partnership with VTS, would like to resume volunteer days soon. Contact the McKinleyville Land Trust at 

    Lacks Creek Trails (Redwood Valley) – Volunteer work days: locations and dates TBA. Contact Tom at
